5 Easy and Amazing Soaks That Can Help You Get Rid of Stinky Feet Forever!

Smelly feet aren’t fun for anyone, but there is an effective, simple and cheap treatment that you can use at home which will banish foot odour within a week.

Medically known as bromodosis, stinky feet are a common year-round problem.

The main cause is sweaty feet combined with wearing the same shoes every day.

  1. Basic epsom salt foot soak

Epsom salt neutralizes odor, and as a bonus, it also happens to be very soothing on aching feet. Dissolve ½ cup of Epsom salt in 8 cups of warm water and soak your feet for 30 minutes 1-2 times daily. Dry thoroughly afterwards.

  1. Sage and rosemary soak

Sage has natural antimicrobial properties that kill bacteria and get rid of bad foot odor. Rosemary on the other hand has astringent properties which clean and minimize the production of sweat.

In a basin of hot boiling water add 1 teaspoon each of dried rosemary and dried sage

Let it steep and cool enough

Soak your feet for 30 minutes once or twice daily to get rid of foot odor.

Baking soda is the apogee of household products in terms of versatility. What can’t you do with the household powerhouse? Also when it comes to curing foot odor, baking soda is a true workhorse. Tea tree oil, on the other hand, is no less of a Jack-of-all-trades. The salt also called sodium bicarbonate, bread soda, cooking soda, and bicarbonate of soda is praised for its potent odor control abilities.

It kills bacteria and fungus *, and, if that’s not enough, softens your feet like Cleopatra’s honey and milk baths did for the Egyptian queen.

Components:

¼ cup of baking soda

8 cups of warm water

Juice of one lemon

A large bowl or bucket to soak your feet in

  1. Vinegar foot soak

Add a cup of vinegar to a basin of warm water. For more odour-fighting force, add a few drops of thyme oil. The oil contains a strong antiseptic that kills odour-causing bacteria. Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes a day for a week. (Consider this treatment off-limits if you have any open sores or broken skin.)

  1. Black tea foot soak

Let the mixture cool down if necessary, then soak your feet for 30 minutes. Repeat daily. The tannic acid in strong black tea kills bacteria and closes pores to help your feet sweat less. Make an odour-fighting foot soak by adding a cup of vinegar to a basin of warm water.

Ingredients:

5 bags of black tea

4 cups of hot water

A big bowl or bucket to soak your feet in

Instructions:

Put boiling water into your foot basin, and add the tea.

Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes and let it cool off.

Soak your feet for 20 minutes, once a day.

Dry completely.
